“Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis will have ‘not just nice sweet innocent sex … we’re talking ecstasy-induced hungry aggressive angry sex.’”
—

Portman and Kunis will play rival ballerinas who hook up in Darren Aronfsky’s (The Wrestler) new film, Black Swan. Uhh … can we buy our tickets yet?

Abercrombie & Futch?
Oh, Dani, you were the only semi-redeemable part of A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, and all that seems to remain of you is this sort of ridiculous line of t-shirts.

In the wake of her father’s death, Ash is left alone to pay off his debts in the service of her own step mother. Consumed with grief, her only joy comes by the light of the dying hearth fire, re-reading the fairy tales her mother once told her. In her dreams, someday the fairies will steal her away, as they are said to do. When she meets the dark and dangerous fairy Sidhean, she begins to believe that her wish may be granted. The day that Ash meets Kaisa, the King’s Huntress, her heart begins to change. Instead of chasing fairies, Ash learns to hunt with Kaisa. Though their friendship is as delicate as a new bloom, it reawakens Ash’s capacity for love—and her desire to live. But Sidhean has already claimed Ash for his own, and she must make a choice between fairy tale dreams and true love. Entrancing and romantic, Ash is an empowering retelling of Cinderella about the connection between life and love, and solitude and death, where transformation can come from even the deepest grief.
Look for Malinda Lo’s first novel this fall.
I am super excited for this book. I’ve been waiting for the past year or so and it’s almost here! Hopefully I’ll find a way to get a signed copy.

International LGBT Issues: Girl-In-Philippines
Excellent essay/blog post on Filipino culture and how it affects the not-so-visible lesbian community there.

She’s cute. And British. And my favorite new television host. It’s on with Alexa Chung. It’s like TRL, but cool.

National Marriage Boycott
Started by a group of students at Stanford University, NMB is a campaign to get people to refuse to get married “until everyone can” à la Brangelina and to advocate for the rights of the LGBT community. There is an equality ring that is worn on the left ring finger, in place of, in addition to (or in hope for) an actual wedding band. The website is a social network and they are expanding rapidly.

Beaver Bunch is a weekly series of videos “where five very different LGBTQ members have come together to break stereotypes, discuss the world at large, and answer your questions.” I like the idea of different people answering the same questions and discussing the same issues, because it gives a good spectrum of answers, instead of just one voice. This YouTube channel is a great resource, because it offers a normal, positive perspective on the LGBT community. It’s also very entertaining and pertinant!
